One of the secrets of success of “gay rights” propaganda was that it portrayed sodomites as people just like you and me, avoiding any mention of what these people actually do when they “have sex”. If non-sodomites were aware, discussions around same-sex “marriage” or “homophobia” would soon be over. As Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen, the strategists of the “gay rights” movement, wrote:
“first you get your foot in the door, by being as similar as possible; then, and only then – when your one little difference is finally accepted – can you start dragging in your other peculiarities, one by one. You hammer in the wedge narrow end first. As the saying goes, Allow the camel’s nose beneath your tent, and his whole body will soon follow.”
If this is true, then it definitely appears that the moment has now arrived where the “gay rights” movement thinks it can without risk begin speaking of those “other peculiarities”. A reader from Russia has drawn our attention to a Russian “gay rights” campaign called PULSAR, entirely funded by Western donors, that explicitly promotes anal sex, which allegedly is the preferred sexual activity of male homosexuals.
Of course, given the very serious health risks associated with anal sex (which includes not only the transmission of HIV/AIDS, but also of a host of other diseases), it is arguable that informing “men having sex with men” (MSM) of ways to reduce those risks may be a suitable activity for NGOs or government bodies dealing with public health. But there is a difference between informing about anal sex and promoting it.
Any well-intentioned information about anal sex should in the very first place inform the reader that he should never engage in that practice (or, if he is engaging in it, that he should quit): it is immoral, disgusting, and very dangerous. Only after such an initial statement should any further information be provided.
The PULSAR campaign does the opposite. A brochure entitled *опа! Все, что Вы хотели знать о попе, но стеснялись спросить (which could be roughly translated as All you wanted to know about anal sex but were ashamed to ask) has the apparent intention to proselytize among non-sodomites. Rather than warning against anal sex it glorifies it, speaking of “anal joys” that await the reader. The language is coarse, and the images are explicit.
More remarkable, however, than the content of this disgusting and irresponsible pamphlet is the origin of the funds that have been used to produce it. As one learns from PULSAR’s website, the group’s main provider of funds currently is a German Protestant charity called “Brot für die Welt”. The name of that charity, bread for the world, is apt to make donors believe that their donations will be used to give bread to the hungry. As it turns out, in reality they are used to promote anal sex in Russia and who knows where else…
Other funding sources of PULSAR include George Soros’s Open Society Institute (not quite surprising, as sodomy – more than democracy – is known to be one of Soros’s funding priorities), the Dutch Embassy to Russia, the UK Department for International Development, and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.
Being something rather similar to a NGO, we at AGENDA EUOPE are very concerned about the Russian Government’s recent measures to crack down on foreign-run civil society organizations. However, cases such as the funding of PULSAR provide a perfect pretext to justify such crack-downs. Ultimately, the PULSAR project is not only an irresponsible attempt to promote inherently bad and risk-laden sexual perversions, but it also undermines and puts at risk all the good work that could be done by other NGOs.
