The queerest legislature in the world

westminster-image-1-jpgAccording to newspaper reports, 32 out of the 650 Members in the newly elected UK Parliament identify themselves as gay or lesbian. With 5% of all lawmakers, this would make Westminster the queerest Parliament in the world, as the Guardian writes. (In addition, there may still be some closeted homosexuals who are not shameless enough to boast of their sex-lives…)

The most sexually “diverse” of all parliamentary groups are the feft-wing and nationalist  Scottish National Party with 7 out of 56 MPs, which amounts to 12.5%. Continue reading “The queerest legislature in the world”

Justus Lipsius_0In the Conclusions of the Foreign Affairs Council on Gender in Development last Monday the issue of “sexual and reproductive health and rights” is addressed as follows:

“10. The Council remains committed to the promotion, protection and fulfilment of all human rights and to the full and effective implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and the Programme of Action of the ICPD and the outcomes of their review conferences and remains committed to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), in this context. Having that in mind, the Council reaffirms the EU’s commitment to the promotion, protection and fulfilment of the right of every individual to have full control over, and decide freely and responsibly on matters related to their sexuality and sexual and reproductive health, free from discrimination, coercion and violence. The Council further stresses the need for universal access to quality and affordable comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information, education, including comprehensive sexuality education, and health-care services. The Council invites all EU institutions to continue their work on these issues in line with the Policy Coherence for Development principles. Taking a look into their latest Newsletter, it becomes quite clear that, having completely absorbed the ideology of those seeking to undermine marriage and family, COFACE has lost track of what a family is. Continue reading “COFACE is the fig-leaf on the European Commission’s family policy”

one_of_us_logo_02The application by Marie Stopes International (MSI) to be admitted as an intervener in the lawsuit initiated by the organizers of the successful ONE OF US citizens’ initiative to challenge the European Commission’s inadequate response to their petition has provided ONE OF US with a nice occasion to expose in public the true nature of MSI’s activities as well as the organization’s eugenicist ideology.

Here are some excerpts from the pro-lifers’ submission in response to MSI’s application: Continue reading “ONE OF US unmasks Marie Stopes in submission to European Court”

Assisted Suicide bill defeated in Scotland

Scottish ParliamentThe Scottish Parliament has rejected the Assisted Suicide Scotland Bill by 82 votes to 36 following a debate at Holyrood. The bill would have allowed those with terminal illnesses to seek the help of a doctor to end their own life.

Supporters said the plan had widespread public backing but critics argued a change in the law would be unethical.

MSPs were given a free vote. The Scottish government did not support changing the law.

The week before the vote the Care Not Killing Alliance presented a petition of 15,300 people who oppose the assisted suicide bill.
