Germany: If we accept same-sex “marriage”, polygamy and incest will be next

Conservatives are on the defensive – and their arguments seem somewhat inept, as they fail to affirm what really is the nub of the matter: that there is no reason at all for the State to endorse sexual activities that are by nature sterile, counter-natural, and a source of infectious diseases. Instead, they all seem to have internalized the doctrine that sodomites are a community of “victims” who deserve to hear an endless series of profuse excuses from the rest of society.

But there is one exception: Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, the Prime Minister of the German Region of Saarland (and otherwise reputed to belong to the “liberal” wing of Angela Merkel’s political party, the Christian Democratic Union), has bravely stated the obvious: a State that legally recognizes “marriages” between persons of the same sex will have no arguments left to not provide equal status and recognition to “marriages” between siblings, parents and their children, or more than two persons. With the recognition of same-sex “marriage”, marriage becomes a completely arbitrary concept.

This has, of course, provoked a howl of outrage from mass media and leftist politicians, claiming that Mrs. Kramp-Karrenbauer has “insulted the LGBT community” by “comparing them to polygamists and pedophiles”, and calling her to present her excuses. But so far Mrs. Kramp-Karrenbauer has not offered excuses: what she has said is right, and whoever has a different opinion should offer sound arguments instead of posturing as “victim”.

Upon reading German newspapers, one cannot fail to observe a remarkable discrepancy between the “critical” coverage she gets from professional journalists, and the strong support her comments have received in online fora: read, for example, the readers’ comments on the website of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung or Die Welt.
