European Parliament LIBE Committee to discuss “Anti-Discrimination Directive” on 17 June

all_animals_are_equalThe agenda of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties (LIBE) for its upcoming meeting foresees that the Latvian Presidency will provide an update of the so-called Anti-Discrimination Directive. The controversial proposal has been blocked in Council since five years, to the frustration of the Committe, which – despite its name – has a left-leaning majority that is very keen on curtailing the contractual freedom of European citizens.

The debate will be livestreamed on the EP’s website, beginning around 10 am on Wednesday 17 June.
