If he is to remain at the European Parliament, it must be as President, if accepts the offer to become Germany’s next Foreign Minister (following Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s designation to be elected Federal President), it is only on the condition that he will be the Socialist Party’s “Spitzenkandidat” in the upcoming elections, so that he might succeed Angela Merkel as Federal Chancellor in case there would be a majority consisting of Socialists, Greens, and Communists.

Is anyone going to call the bluff?
